And the winners are...

We are impressed. With entries received from all across Atlantic Canada, you certainly brought on the creativity! The judges have made their decisions - and the voters have officially chosen the People's Choice Award winner.
So here are your 2007 Aliant Safe Grad Contest winners:

People's Choice Award

Central Kings Rural High School – Cambridge, Nova Scotia

"Immediately after hearing we won, we were ecstatic! We couldn't believe it! We made the teacher show us the email, and we read it over three times before we were convinced. After that we ran down the hall yelling and cheering, interrupted a physics class to tell the news to our Safe Grad organizer, then barged into the office to announce to the rest of the school. Safe Grad is well on its way to being the best party of the year!! Thanks for all your support Gators and Friends!"

Third Place

Colonel Gray High School – Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

"I think Safe Grad is really important to the grads because it is something they will always remember and it's something that we can all do together. We are very fortunate for Aliant and their generosity. Without it this experience would not have been possible."
Megan Murnaghan

Second Place

Richmond Academy – Louisdale, Nova Scotia

"Upon arriving in our class Friday morning our teacher immediately instructed us to go down to the office where he had sent a document he had printed off. Upon arriving at the office and finding the document we were thrilled to read that we had won the second place prize of three thousand dollars for our safe grad. We’ve faced many difficulties in raising the necessary funds to give the graduating class what they all want for their safe grad. With an additional three thousand dollars at our disposal we are now financially capable of providing the graduating class of ‘07 with what will truly be the party of the year! We send our sincerest of thanks to Aliant and all those who helped us in the production of our Aliant safe grad video."
Matt Hill

First Place

Ecole Sainte Anne – Fredericton, New Brunswick

"We were absolutely thrilled when we found out that we won the contest! It is very exciting and gratifying to know that we have the chance to make 2007, our graduation year, truly a year to remember. We would like to thank Aliant and everyone for giving us the opportunity to take part in this contest."

Thank you to all participating schools. It has been another fantastic contest and we look forward to seeing more creativity and ideas next year. You can still review this year's videos below.

The Details
All graduating students in Atlantic Canada were invited to participate in the Aliant Safe Grad video contest. Each participating high school formed a team to create and shoot a two-minute video that showed how Aliant products or services could help them get invited to the party of the year.
